As a member of the County Planning Commission, Jeff reviews land use applications, listens to community input, and helps make recommendations to the County Commissioners based on existing land use codes. This experience has given him firsthand knowledge of the challenges facing Saguache County residents and the importance of balancing responsible growth with protecting rural communities and property rights.

As Secretary of the Fire Department Board, Jeff works with district leadership to review reports, discuss county needs, and help make decisions that support local fire protection services. His involvement reflects a strong commitment to ensuring firefighters and emergency responders have the tools, equipment, and support they need to help protect the people and communities of Saguache County.

As Secretary of the Saguache Creek Water Users Association, Jeff works alongside agricultural producers and local water leaders to help protect water rights and support responsible water management in the San Luis Valley. His involvement reflects a commitment to ensuring water users are treated fairly, have proper access to their water, and that this vital resource is protected for future generations.

Through his involvement with the Habitat Partnership Program, Jeff works with local ranchers, farmers, the Forest Service, BLM, and Colorado Parks & Wildlife to support responsible conservation and wildlife management throughout Saguache County. His work focuses on strengthening partnerships between local landowners and public agencies on projects involving fencing, water resources, habitat conservation, and reducing wildlife conflicts in agricultural areas.

Jeff serves as a volunteer firefighter with the local fire department, assisting in emergency response and stepping up wherever needed to help protect lives and property in the community.

Jeff serves with search and rescue efforts focused on helping locate and assist individuals in need throughout the county, including both residents and visitors.
